w2R hits the road!

w2R at the Staffordshire County Show.

It isn’t always possible for people to come on site and meet us and our teams here at w2R, and we love talking all things rubbish, so the decision was made to try and engage with more local communities by heading out and about taking our message about “what should go in what bin” on the road.

Luckily we hit the road with our Virtual Reality headsets packed which offer anyone who puts them on a chance to stroll around the site at their own leisure and also from the comfort of their own chair!

The 360° shows exactly what happens behind the scenes to Staffordshire’s waste that can’t be reused or recycled and offers local Staffordshire residents the same opportunity as someone who visits w2R - Staffordshire Energy Recovery Facility in person.

With all the equipment all we needed were some events to attend, and luckily Staffordshire is not the short of events to attend and in May we headed off to Staffordshire County Show Ground for two days for the Staffordshire County Show, then in June we were at the NEC for the Big Bang Science Fair and also Wolverhampton Sci-Fest!

Taking w2R out on the road is a great way to engage with a variety of Staffordshire residents about the work we do and how they can get involved.
